Lauren Kuby is fighting for the issues most important in Legislative District 8: climate solutions, abortion rights, public education, affordable housing, and worker protections.
Now an AZ state senator, former two-term vice mayor and councilmember in Tempe, Lauren has been recognized as a national champion for climate action and for cities as incubators of innovation.
Legislative District 8 includes:
Mesa • Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community • Tempe • Phoenix • Scottsdale
As a reminder of the importance of climate policy to every Arizonan, we filmed this spoken word poem on Black Mesa, near the now-closed Kayenta coal mine, which once fueled the Navajo Generating Station. The video features Arizona's environmentalists, climate heroes, and community leaders.
